Ah, Italy! One of the top travel destinations, some of the best food in the world, and a leader when it comes to wine.
Italy is also a leader in wine confusion. Trust us, no country is more challenging for a wine student to learn than Italy. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed when browsing the Italian section at a store, you’re not alone. With over 1000 native grape varieties, along with a confusing hierarchy of labeling laws and little-known regions, where do you begin?
TCWE to the rescue! In this class, we’ll give you all the info you need to know without overwhelming you with what you don’t. We will start with the history of Italian wine, which helps to explain all the grape varieties you’ve never heard of. Then we’ll break the country into sub-regions that connect the dots of the key grape varieties.
This fast-paced class will cover Veneto, Alto-Adige, Tuscany, Piedmont, Apulia, and many more regions. You’ll leave with more Italian wine confidence than you can imagine.
Six outstanding wines will be presented, along with a ton of information and education. All wines will be available with special pricing through Solo Vino Wine Shop in St. Paul.
